CSU Learn Mandatory Trainings
For Incoming and Returning Students
The CSU’s Chancellor’s Office requires new incoming freshmen, transfer students, graduate students and international students to complete Title IX online training. It provides information on identifying, reporting and prevention of campus sexual violence, and sets the base from which the community can build to ensure a safe campus environment for all.
To access the training, click the link sent to you in a notification email OR go to CSU Learn, select SF State from the drop-down menu, login with your SFSU credentials and click ‘Assigned Learning’.

Yes, this training is required and is part of the campus’s efforts to address sexual misconduct and harassment on campus by providing students with relevant information, connection to resources and encouraging bystander intervention.
Try clearing your cache (found in your browser’s history), before going back to CSU Learn. Click on the three vertical dots on the upper right of the activity to re-register for the training. For further technical issues, please email ITS at service@sfsu.edu.
Yes, even though you completed a similar training at another campus, you’re still required to complete the assigned training.
For SF State Employees
All SF State employees are required to complete annual trainings for both Discrimination & Sexual Harassment Prevention and Gender Equity & Title IX trainings.
Frequently Asked Questions (Employees)
While on professional leave, you can disregard the notices, but you will be required to complete the training upon your return. If you are on sabbatical, you are still required to complete the training.
Contact your supervisor if you receive this message. Your department will need to send Human Resources an updated ETRAC regarding your employment expiration date in order for you to have access to the training. You can also try accessing the course through CSU Learn, as sometimes the link embedded in the notification email may be prompting the error message.
Student groups, academic departments or administrative offices at SFSU can request to have Title IX staff provide training on Title IX & DHR Compliance, Bystander Intervention, Consent & Communication, Healthy Relationships or more.
